SCENARIO: Woman w/10 years of martial arts experience is home with her man who has no martial arts experience and someone breaks in. Who protects who?

Question

Someone breaks into the home. All you know about him is that he is big.

She just has the strength of a slightly above average woman but has been doing martial arts for the last 10 years. Her man is 3x physically stronger than her from being an athlete but he has barely thrown a punch because he never had to.

They're both awake in the same room. No kids. Will she expect her man to protect her or will she gladly protect her man with her skills?

I know some of you will think they should work as a team and I agree but let's say the best way is to go through a skinny door and someone has to be in front, so what I'm really asking is, who should be in front and putting his or her self at more risk?

The man. He is stronger, tougher, faster regardless of his lack of training and this is just a fact. In addition a male has a higher threshold for negative stimuli i. e. he is less affected by fear and anxiety then a woman on average and has a higher threshold for pain, more robust body structure (significantly denser bones, 25% thicker skin, greater muscle mass etc.) and as such is far more likely to be able to withstand damage done to him to a greater extent then the woman and is far more likely to take action then the woman is.

I actually keep my car keys in kitchen dead easy to get, I really do not want having my very limited sleep disturbed if the fuckwits are after my cars.

I have Gap insurance and that’s fine for me.

if weapons are allowed I have a rather nice combat tomahawk, which will ruin most people’s day.

I'd say that in reality, it's not worth taking the risk in that situation, so the first option should be calling the police. But for the sake of the question/scenario and assuming that the martial arts training of the woman is serious, she would be a far better fighter than the man and both she and he would be aware of that. So the woman would be the obvious choice to "go first".
