Y'all are at that age, so yeah probably. a lot of relationships start out as friendships and the more you get to know about the person the more you know if you'd like to partner with them or if it would be better platonic.

I'd say sit him down and talk to him about it! Y'all are good friends, maybe you'd be better as dating partners or maybe you'd be better staying as friends. Ya won't know until ya talk it out!

Also, it ain't a commitment to getting married or anything. If y'all date and it just don't gel, go back to friends. Unless ya have sex or something it ain't that hard to turn back.
