Is being mellow good or bad in a relationship?

My boyfriend just said “you’re just so mellow”. Not the first time he used that word about me. So is it good to be mellow as far as relationships are concerned?

You know at first I was like that in my seven year relationship. I would absolutely NEVER get angry and I was so sweet, too sweet. I was putting up with a lot and I never retaliated and it consumed me. I think it affected me negatively and probably still does to this day. My boyfriend actually didn’t like that I was so nice at first. He used to compare me to his exes and say they were mean as if it was a good thing and ask me why I couldn’t be a bit more mean. Fast forward a couple of years of tolerating this nonsense I became a complete bitch and he couldn’t take it. He would cry and beg me to give him the old me back. I guess people should be careful what they wish for.

Being mellow is my true personality tho. Which doesn’t mean I put up with anything. If mistreated I would walk away and never look back, done it before. My guy however seems to truly appreciate it.

I think it's good but some guys are never happy and think if you're too chill it means you don't care enough. Regardless I think it's a very good quality.
I'd like a very chill mellow partner, I don't like people who're always nagging me
