Do men cheat more often when their woman criticizes them too much?

I feel like men look to feel appreciated in a relationship and like they are fulfilling a woman in a relationship. Criticisms detract from that. A man will look for the gratitude elsewhere.

I've never heard of a couple that doesn't fight. As for cheating, let's not forget to factor in a person's personality.

1. Requires constant attention or has low self esteem?
2. Has no regard for how others feel?
3. Thinks cheating is a good way to hurt someone?
4. Wants a challenge?
5. Wants the whole package of a relationship while also the thrill of dating someone new?
6. Sex addict?

Cheating because of being criticized sounds like points 1 and 3. People who don't cheat because they are criticized ultimately make a decision. Break up or work through it. What's the guilt of cheating worth anyway

Sounds like your acknowledgment of being overly critical is a start… Basically it tells him you do not value him as a person let alone a partner.

I think everyone goes through times they feel unappreciated in relationships. Worst mistake we make is not communicating mutually. Not the assumptions or, the story we told ourselves - what our partner is truly telling us.


When I feel unappreciated I open up that conversation with my wife before that feeling deepens to resentment. Something she does with me as well.

I think it depends on the individual guy and all.
I think if it is a good guy with good morals he would not cheat but break it off if he is not happy.
If it’s a guy that lies about things and manipulates than he is likely to cheat.

He might cheat more or he might not be the one wearing the pants. Some men just grovel on at that continual punishment vs telling her to STFU. But the men who accept the nagging eventually more passive & whipped.

In those situations the woman is more prone to cheating. She got what she asked for (whipped husband) and she’s miserable about it. A part of her wants to be challenged and defied. She gets tempted to look elsewhere for that rush.

Depends on the guy. If he's a player or has options and he's being disrespected he'll probably be out that door as fast as he walked in. I think people are getting into relationships for all the wrong reasons.
