I have seen on instagram some really pretty girls are in a relationship with below average looking guys. And by seeing them anyone can tell they could've done better.

And don't say "looks don't matter, you should have beautiful heart ❤️".

coz it does matter! Even on GAG so many girls have confessed looks do matter.

So why do they marry such ugly guys? Is it for money? Why would they do it themselves?

Looks are subjective.
My friend is madly in love with her fiance. Thinks he's the most handsome guy.
I disagree. As does her family.
And it's not uncommon for someone to just look "average" to us and then change to sexy af. I call it "googoo eyes".
You like them as a person and all of a sudden they look super attractive. You got your gaga glasses on.
Then when you break up you think "wtf was I thinking?"
So to them, they genuinely find that person attractive.

No, I don't think they do as long as they enjoy the company of the supposed unattractive guy. Looks will only get you so far because we all age and those good looks disappear. Better to have a guy with a good attitude who can make them laugh than say a guy who's only asset is his looks. Not that an attractive guy can't make a woman laugh. Personality is far better than looks.
A guy might be tall with good looks but if he's an asshole, then the lady picked wrong. The same might be said for men who marry unattractive women or women others find unattractive. I think asking such a question is sort of juvenile and shallow. Looks aren't everything. If I thought that way, I wouldn't be married to the woman I am now.
