Guys, If short guys mostly complain about wishing they were taller, why do they shame women for wanting a tall guy?

No boy grows up wishing he would grow up to be short.

If we know that statistically tall men do better professionally (in terms of being given assumed power and financially) and they have more opportunities with women (and gay men for that matter), and a good portion of short guys wish they were at least a little to a lot taller, why do guys shame women for wanting a tall guy? This is basically natural selection at work---and yes, as cruel as that sounds---there are equal traits like tiny boobs in women that aren't seen as favorable by the majority of men either. Why should anyone be forced to like something just because you are that thing or fall into that category? Women AND men like what they like...and I agree that it sucks to be excluded but shaming women and trying to claim they're all just shallow because they don't like that you're short is not going to endear you to them...

Im short and i can admit I've been guilty of this, and i can also admit you have a really good point. I guess if i had to say why, the biggest reason would be because we feel the need to blame someone, and i guess the easiest people to blame are women. However i also know that we shouldn't do this. Let me put you in our shoes though. You've had down luck with women, and then you meet a girl whos short, someone who might actually be able to look past your height. Than you gather all your courage to ask her out and get turned down cuz she only dates tall dudes. It hits you right in the pride and your mad yourself. Than you get mad at women. Then you get mad at everything. Its a rabbit hole, and most short guys get stuck in this rabbit hole of feeling like a defect. So on behalf of short guys, sorry for the shaming but i hope you at least see where we are coming from

They want to be taller so women will be more willing to date them. That's why, because so many women out right dismiss them and everything they are and every trait they have simply because they happen to be short and it bothers them (understandably so). Seems pretty obvious.

No, frustration I understand and I don't begrudge anyone, but when you tell someone, "you're a shallow b---- for wanting a tall guy," you're being a jerk. It is not their fault they like what they like, and it is not their 'fault' you're short. That person could just as easily say, it sucks that women don't like short men, but trying to turn it around and make it seem like it's some sort of crime that someone doesn't like you or that they are somehow a bad person, is not cool at all from men or women.

I completely agree. Please note that I was careful to say "sometimes." And how I long to see a day when the use of the word "shallow" is ended in regards to attraction in dating (though I feel I'll be in my grave long before that happens... if it happens at all).

It does bring up a rather interesting problem, whether you intended for it to or not. How should a person go about expressing frustration about being selected out of dating and relationships? I'm not talking about what they shouldn't do (not calling someone shallow or a bitch... which you would think should be painfully obvious but it isn't), but how should they express this frustration in a way that's not hurtful to others and healthy?

It is the same exact thing. I'm not making any point that it's not. I'm pointing out that it exists both ways but it makes no sense for either to then be like, you're shallow. We like what we like and if you're not in that category, you can't force yourself upon someone because they "should" like what you are.

A man can be 5'11" with a 6' woman. Yes, 5'11" is tall and not an opinion since it exceeds the average height for men at 5'9.7".
