Why did he ditch me for another girl?

My guy best friend of 2 years recently got a girlfriend. He told me so many times that he didn’t want a relationship and that he isn’t ready for one. He was in prison for 16 months and I stayed the entire time he was locked up. He would call me everyday, we would write eachother, and I spent a lot of money on him.. he got out back in June and things just have not been the same. He was hooking up with a 35 year old woman and at the time I felt completely tossed to the side and he would say “im single” disregarding my feelings. He has always known how I felt about him. He always knew that I wanted more. When he was locked up, he never told me what we were or how he felt. I would ask him if we will ever be in a relationship and he would say “I don’t know the future, I can’t promise anything give me time”. He even said that when he got out. Suddenly he has a girlfriend and texted me yesterday asking to be friends when I made it clear from so long ago that I will not be in his life if he gets a girlfriend. It is common sense, Im in love with him. Im just very hurt he basically dropped me for someone else after all I did and I stuck by his side

If he doesn't like you the same way you like him, and if he doesn't see any chance of you two being together ever in the future, then just be honest and say so.
I think it's so despicable of him to keep giving you false hopes. Like what the fuck does "I don’t know the future, I can’t promise anything give me time" even means?

Does it mean yes, that's there's a chance or no, I never liked you in the first place? I can only think that the only reason why he keeps you stranded like that was because of your money. If he outright tells you he doesn't love you at all, he risked losing his source of money, you. Which is kinda sad.

But on the bright side, at least now you know what kind of asshole he is. You deserve someone better. Move on.

It hurts so much I don’t understand why he wasn’t honest in the beginning and now all of a sudden he wants to be just friends. I can’t be just friends with him especially if he has a girlfriend which he does now after he LIED to me telling me so many times that he does not want a girlfriend

I don't want to rub more salt into your wounds. But when a girl admits to a guy that she loves him and want to be in a relationship with him, and he keeps telling her he doesn't want a girlfriend. It's not that he doesn't want a girlfriend, he just doesn't want HER to be his girlfriend. You get what I'm trying to say?

Somehow, I feel that you also knew it all along, that he does not like you at all but you prefer to believe otherwise, that there may be a chance. I just want you to know that if a guy really wants you, he will do everything in his power to make it happen.

He also told my friends that he always told me he only saw me as a friend but he never told me that when he was in jail. Never made things clear didn’t even tell me what we were when i would ask even when he got out and i would ask about a potential future between us he would say “give me time im not ready for a relationship yet”

Once again, I would advise you to move on and cut off contact with him. You really, really deserve someone better. Take some time to yourself, do whatever you've been wanting to do. Cry, scream, take up kickboxing lessons, yoga etc. You'll realize in time getting over him is the best thing you could have done for yourself.

He clearly doesn't have feelings for you like that and you're just going to have to accept it.
He never promised you anything, but you still held on, on your own accord wishing for something to happen.
He "ditched" you because he wasn't yours to begin with and wasn't interested in a relationship.

I'm sorry to say, but 99% cons remain Cons, few examples?
1st, why was he in Prison for?
2nd, He will say/do Anything to pass the time, knowing that inmates are not like the outside people.
3rd, No pain no Gain, right?
4th, again he will say/do anything as long as it found someone to "love/suport" him financial...
So i'm afraid that he had someone that She promised him lots of things, like pocket money, place to stay, sex every night, drugs, etc, etc... so He just "used you, kept you aside" as a Back up! In case his plans would fall appart... I'm really feel for you, but i'm afraid that all i can say is "it is what it is"...

I'm sorry to say but that's why i also lost trust in the opposite sex, because all they wanted from a "relationship" was just Financial Gain! Love? Sex? Companionship, Realationship, All the little things counting... All thise were out the window, and when i found out... i can say that "THAT HURT", and it hurt so bad, that it tranferred Physicaly...

Sorry to hear this happened. It really hurts when you realize you been used all round for money and support when he needs it. But the saying "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me". You learnt this horrible lesson. Forget about him and move on.

Usually with these types of people they never keep a relationship and get bored quickly. He probably will eventually come back to you only for using u and your money.

the thanks you are a sweet young woman and yes God sees this and
trust me there is a man out there for you all you got to do and ask in
the Lord's name and you shall be Blessed.. These people in prison
have head issues I think he was writing to this woman all along
while you were placed on the back burner, this is terrible of him
he wants to be friends but he wants the sugar momma age 35
on the side, I just wonder how many other women he got stringed

I had a girl who was in prison and as soon as she ask me to send her money through this other girl I stopped all communication... She could of been receiving my letters from this other girl not too sure but these people who are convicts got to be watched

That really, really sucks because it sounds like you would have been a terrific mate. I think you would have to step back and take a look from his perspective, though. Probably not proud of himself and maybe not wanting someone who is serious. I would invest in some good counseling because you really need to try to see come to grips with your feelings and what is reality. Others can help, which just means they can be there to help you through this.

I knew guys who even got married while in prison... *just for the sex*. Then immediately dumped the woman when they got out even if they had a baby together. It's a joke to those guys.

What you need to do is take time to think about why you did it beyond the point when you should've known better.
