I don’t think it’s normal but I think this generation has normalised it. I’m 20 and I don’t know any guy my age who hasn’t cheated on the girl they are with. It’s sad really. It makes me scared to be in a relationship because there’s so many guys who have girlfriends who have literally tried to get in my pants or my friends pants.

The one thing that will always inevitably be missing from long term relationships after 10 years into it, is the thrill of the unknown and the excitement that comes from new experiences.
it’s natural that people will miss that and that does make you vulnerable to seeking out that kind of rush.

@t-8900 hmm a psychologist would say to you that rather than putting your fears or energy into finding someone.. whose behaviour you can 💯 control, why not work on yourself and how you react when someone chooses not to be solely with you. At least you can control yourself, and your reactions. That is healthier

Else what's the point of it all? In not going to stay with her in old health if she cheats. Infidelity is automatic grounds for leaving. Cheaters don't love they just take. Imho

If he strayed that is about him, it’s not about me🤷‍♀️ I understand how exciting it would be for him to have new experiences after this long, I’m not saying I wouldn’t be saddened but I mean I get it

I think just for name personally with my childhood history if my wife stepped out on me I don't know if I could get over that. I would hate myself for staying and hate myself for her needing to cheat because I wasn't enough. 🤷‍♂️😞

But in reality, esp when 2 people have been with eachother for a long time, I can understand that sometimes there's a feeling of "is the grass greener on the other side" which can lead to cheating. But the answer is usually no, ... the grass isn't green anywhere!

It SEEMS common. But like any kind of story, you'll be told the more bad stories and experiences rather than the good. Good relationships just get on with it.
Cheating is not normal and is just pure shitty behaviour.

I've just had a string of bad gfs. Currently women are cheating more than men. It's by a single % point. HOWEVER only 13% of women cheat on their partners and 12% of men. So 13 out of 100 women... that's kind of rare. But because we go out with different people we are likely to run into at least one or two crappy people along the way.

I'm worried it is based on my experiences with women. Apparently it's not normal to go more than 3-4 dates without smashing these days. Forget the connection of love and all that. What ever happened to "all good things in time"?

My wife came back from a bachelorette party once and tols me how she and her friend had sex with the stripper. She just said it so casually as if there was nothing at all weird about it. So, I just shrugged it off.

i think we have this impression, cause on social media, negative messages are way more likely to spread. i mean who ever posts a status update saying "hey my boyfriend never cheated on me"? nobody. it's always the stories about cheaters that spread.

My experience tells me it is common. Every relationship i have been cheated on. But i know my tiny corner of the world isn't the stats of the rest of the world.
