Why do people who "claim" to be so smart try to play games with the wrong person/people?

"Smart" people who brag about their knowledge and wisdom and think they know better than others is not really smart. My grandma tells me that i should keep an open mind and take advise/suggestions from everyone and learn a lot from people. You can learn something from everyone, you have just gotta have an open mind.

I think *some* people usually play games in dating because they are manipulative... or maybe just bored? Im not really sure, but playing games doesn't lead anywhere.
As the saying goes:
"Play stupid games, win stupid prizes"

I think its mostly the manipulative people who play these pointless games. Some others may do this in order to not come off too strong, while others may do this without realizing that they are in fact playing that person.

Because only those who proclaim being smart, have a full cup that cannot be expanded when it comes to learning. They think they know everything so are not open to advancing mentally.
Those who recognize that they are not "smart" are mentally open to new information, and therefore continue on.

This question made me smile for me I always think that is because I I've got open my mouth or show do I truly am are they just didn't get it so when those type of games start getting played I just take one step up and play a different game most of the time I will say Time Out game over but with some people you just got to do it because you sat there and watched and listen to them all this time without saying one word and then finally enough is enough. But then I become a dick for a minute and I always wondered what possessed of somebody to go out of their way to do what they do

Because irony and karma 🤣. I never claim that i am smart, i read a lot and to know things that the part of me that wants to be curious. Knowledge is key but bragging about being smart is stupid 🤷‍♂️. I have so many stories to tell, i could make a stand comedy special about it 😁

The smarter people believe they are, the ''stronger'' they see themselves.
They often ignore that somewhere there's someone who is even smarter (or stronger).
To 'play games' indicates to me a person with hidden insecurities and/or weaknesses.

It's only natural that sometimes they meet their master :)

By the same token anyone claiming to be smart is definitely deluding themselves because they desire it so much.

As for playing games with the wrong people, well are there right people to play games with?
I do belive that playing games for a great reaaon can be used to spice up an interaction or relationship. But nothing condones manipulation

I will never understand that. I prefer to be as much of an open book as I can without compromising myself. If a woman does not like me for who I'm, the chance of any relationship or even friendship is doomed from the beginning any way. Why waste both our times on a futile endeavour?

I want to believe that... so badly. Like I'm still special somehow, someway. But I don't know I got too many flaws. @brainsbeforebeauty you're a good woman and I'm glad I bumped into you on gag last year and read your stuff. Keep it classy! I love classy gals like you! I know of a few girls on here I talk to on a weekly basis. Sometimes 3-4 times a week we hold steady convos and they certainly dont give a hoot about the guy's income so long as he's actually doing work and not like selling drugs or something. Anyways my highest earning job was a Produce clerk at a local grocery store. I was in school and got sick and became disabled for a number of years. Now I'm getting back to work. First getting my license back (have to do drivers ed again because of a past medical complication). But I already have a vehicle and will probably trade it in for a new one as I continue to build my credit and start saving again. Credit score isn't bad, not amazing (hovers between 701 & 707). I'm responsible for my own bills and I have help with a roof staying over my head BUT I want to get back to work full time SOMEWHERE.

Not sure if I can go back to school. You're either the studious type or not and I have issues sitting in a classroom all day without going bonkers despite getting relatively high marks. Last time I was in school when I was taking anatomy I passed with an A- average which isn't amazing but not bad either. I just can't go back for 2-4 years.

My tension span for school is shot and I dont want a bunch of college debt. I suppose I could always take a trade but I actually looked into a few and... simply not for me. I like a desk job but I also like to be apart of a small team that can form a friendship and get things done together. Not sure where I'd go for that line of work or if I DO need some education. But I'm a co-dependent personality. I dont need a woman's money (happy to sign prenup if asked) but I DO need a lot of time and love. I need those cuddles, those deep conversations, REAL love making, and quiet weekends doing special activities like cooking or baking together, watching movies, going fishing , etc.
