My boyfriend and I have been together for 4 years. The last year or so we’ve been long distance. 8 months ago I was in a kinda serious accident that caused multiple injuries. I’ve been going through a lot to get back to normal but I still haven’t been released to resume a regular fitness schedule. Because of my living a much more stationary life due to these injuries my body has changed a lot. My boyfriend is coming back to see me next week and I haven’t seen him in a few months. I know he loves me no matter what but what if he’s no longer attracted to me? What if he’s disappointed in what I’ve become?

He won't be. You've been with him for 4 years. He loves you. He is not going to be unattracted to you. He's not even going to be less attracted to you. He's still going to see YOU (despite however your body may have changed).

He is attracted to you for a mixture of physical and emotional reasons. (he likes you as a person , and he likes your body). But his 'attraction' to you isn't something that you can separate into "attracted to some aspect of your body" from being attracted to YOU (overall, as a package).

I may not be explaining myself very clearly. But the point is: I really don't think this is something you realistically need to be worrying about. I think your boyfriend is going to be SO happy to see you after not being able to for so long. He's going to be overwhelmed with emotions when he sees you. Disappointment is not going to be anything close to how he feels.

You're worrying. That's natural enough. But I think there really is no need for you to worry. It's not going to happen.

What you describe sounds like he should not be attracted but worried about you in first place. For me it would be very attractive to see how my girl is working on her recreation after what you describe.
