When do you say I Love You?

II'm wanting to know for all of you that have a bf/gf, if you haven't already when did you say I love You to your bf/gf? I have been with my girlfriend for not even a week and I want to tell her but I know its way too early. So is a month long enough to tell her?

There's no set time when you can say it, when ever feels right really. I think it can be pretty awkward if it's too early though. I think less than a week is a big risk and if she doesn't feel the same it may be a little scary for her. That's not to say you shouldn't tell her now, but I'm just saying be careful. You don't want to scare her away too early ;)

maybe hold out a while, gauge how she feels about the relationship.

Me and my girlfriend said it after about a month. I didn't think it was too early as I already knew I loved her a lot earlier. It felt completely right. I'm glad she said it back too :)

Sounds to me like she's hinting that she loves you, how else could she guarantee that she'd say it back 'when the time was right'?

No, I'm saying she's telling you not to say it yet, but apparently she's going to tell you when the right time is. Stop worrying about it.

Less than a week? Really? I think you should hold off for awhile. I know if a guy told me that he loved me and it hadn't been a week...I would really wonder about him and about being in a relationship with him...issues like him being smothering. I think it's way to early...honestly I think even a month is too soon. Ask her if she's ever been in love, if she says yes, ask her how soon she knew she was in love. I don't know, it's different for everyone. Personally I don't think you could love someone after only a week...I think it's more infatuation but who knows for sure. I guess anything is possible.

not many girls get freaked out by "i love you" and I even think it was sweet... I was best friends with my boyfriend first and he told me he loved me even before we started going out... just say it after you kissed her.. and then go back to kissing her so its not awkward.. if she does get freaked out then you can always say that you thought girls liked it when guys are all mushy :P hope this helped!

I would wait a while. . . I totally get that you might be feeling it, but that's kind of part of the newness of the relationship. If it lasts a few months, it's probably not JUST those feelings. And I told my boyfriend I loved him a little after our 3 month anniversary.

It depends on the person. I know couples who start using "I love you" immediately, and others who wait for their feelings to develop more. Personally, I would wait a couple months, but it's really up to your preference. My boyfriend kind of tested the waters by starting with "I adore you (more than life)" and cute things like that- you could start saying those now I think- and at one point told me he thought he was falling in love. That way you can gauge her reaction!

Wait for feelings to develop, that's the best advice I can give you. I know quite a few girls who hate being rushed into it. And only say it IF YOU MEAN IT. Jeez.

The earliest I've ever exchanged an "I love you" is 6 months. There was "I really like you" and "I'm crazy about you" before that, but LOVE wasn't spoken for a while.
