If my partner is settling for me, then this relationship is off to a terrible start. I want my partner to want me. I want them to have picked me. Not just settled for me.

Picky. I’d rather someone who has high standards. There’s nothing wrong with high standards because it shows that they know what they want and will seek (seemingly) higher quality people.
I personally have high standards because I won’t settle for no man that doesn’t have goals, isn’t stable, doesn’t present himself well, and is a shitty person.. I also want someone who has similar views and values.

Picky for character, merit, heart, intentions. Less picky on superficial. I can understand being picky for looks though. I fault no one for that, I totally get it.
