Once and for all does Pineapple belong on Pizza?

I'm the Italian and I say it's fine. The trick is getting the right pineapple and actually ditching the ham in favor of a zesty pepperoni. Sweet and Salty work well together. For such a pizza you must treat it differently and remove a fair bit of the garlic from the sauce and go easy on your spices. Allow the pineapple and pepperoni be the main features while the dough and sauce go for the ride. A good pineapple would be the chunks in their own juice and no syrup. I prefer Dole because I think they are the best for the the pizzas. Also this is coming from a guy who makes his own from scratch.

No, it doesn't "belong" on pizza. But you are free to put anything on pizza as you choose. Just like "pansexuals," I guess you could be free to be "panedibles."
Personally, I'd even eat (dead) cockroaches on pizza, if I had to. It's still pizza.

Pineapple goes on pizza just like tongues go into assholes.
It's not for everybody and certainly not me.
๐คฃ nice one
I love pineapple on my pizza! Hawaiian pizza is always amazing!
Me too
I donโt like all that god stuff you talk about but I will agree with you on this one you got good taste

It is a matter of taste. I don't want pineapple on MY pizza but that doesn't mean it can't be on someone else's pizza.
It can be good. I never order Hawaiian pizza. My favorite is pepperoni and chopped garlic. But if I'm someplace where there is a variety to choose from, I might have a slice of Hawaiian pizza at the end as a kind of dessert. Pineapple, Canadian bacon or proscuitto, and red pizza sauce is actually a tasty combination.
I wouldn't be too cocky with this question, Ndrangheta, Cosa Nostra and Mafia sent their death squads for lesser misconducts.🤐
Nevertheless no one can control what people are doing in their kitchen with pizza toppings and I love ham and pineapple.🤫😂
For a while, I lived in a predominantly Italian neighborhood in the northeast. Nope, pineapple was not an option on pizza there.
On Americanized pizza, any topping is okay.
It's like mayonnaise on french fries and steak sauce on a steakhouse steak. However you like your food and whatever you like on it.
I like pineapple and Canadian bacon on a breakfast pizza.
Mayo is good with French fries. They put tartar sauce on burgers where Iโm from! Frisches Big Boy
Hawaiian pizza is great. I remember one time a pizza place screwed up and gave us a free Hawaiian pizza. Then while everyone was eating. It was left open. My cat decided to walk in it, lie down on it and munch on it. So, we found out cats like Hawaiian pizza and lost our free pizza in one fell swoop.
Itโs honestly just a preference thing. So far all we know for sure is that pizza is a flat base of leavened wheat-based dough, with a sauce (usually tomato sauce) and cheese. Everything else is optional. So pineapple belongs on pizza if you want it there- otherwise the presence of pineapples doesnโt define a pizza.
Yes, it does.
The history of pizza allows almost anything to be used.
Pizza was a breakfast of the farmers/workers that used leftovers from the night before.
Therefore, all sorts of things would have appeared on a traditional pizza.
If you like pineapple, eat it.
Glad we have influencers like you to ask the hard hitting questions instead of saying something broad that has been asked before just to get maximum engagement with minimum effort. People can eat what they want how they want as long as it's legal.
You are welcome. That is super kind of you and thank you for being a SUPER FAN!
For some people this question is fantastic to take their mind off their shitty day for a minute or two. We post what we want not what you want.
Anytime
I personally don't like it because it ruins the creamy and salty texture of cheese and the spices. I think sweet things aren't for pizza. I don't hate those who like it tho.
Personally I don't like it but I don't give a shit, if you want to then do... everyone has a different taste

Yes it does, pizza is technically a pie by origination 🥧 seeing that most pies are made with fruit it does in fact belong in a pizza.
Haters, come at me bro.
Time and place
Hawaiian BBQ chicken pizza from Papa John's is lowkey their best pizza full stop. 10 of 10 yes need
Most other times pineapple is just meh on pizza. Pineapple pepperoni bacon can be a good combo depending on the place if it's saucey. Nice blend of flavors
As long as people find it delicious, it belongs.
Doesn't mean it's for everyone. I personally don't like it but others do
But that's how things work🤷🏽โโ๏ธ
Once and for all. It will be asked again real soon. Personally, I like pineapple on pizza as long as it isn't smothered in it. A light dusting would be perfect.
Invented by the Italians, perfected by the New Yorkers, and no-one in either community ever thought, "Hey you know what would go well on here? A tropical desert."
@WowwGirl You think wrong.
Baker Raffaele Esposito from Naples is often given credit for making the first pizza pie. Historians note, however, that street vendors in Naples sold flatbreads with toppings for many years before then. Legend has it that Italian King Umberto I and Queen Margherita visited Naples in 1889.
Whoever did that first is just plain evil. Pure. Evil.
I love pineapples on pizza. Yummy.
In a country that invented and embraced KFC...
the raping of a poor little innocent pizza should be justified as well.
Out of sheer opposition against
kitchen-censorship,
and in the interest of a
FREE cooking society:
I'll make my next home made pizza with an extra portion of pineapple :P
Eat THAT :)
HAHHA awesome <3 and no I don't like pineapple in general
I don't care for it but honestly put whatever the hell you want on your pizza.
You can eat whatever you want.
But historically pineapple wasn't know in italy for a long time, so traditionally it doesn't belong on pizza.
No. but honestly idc what weird combinations people eat, yknow, whatever makes em happy, I'm not eating it tho
Who really cares? 🤷🏽โโ๏ธ
I personally like it! Lol
You obviously cared. You left a comment!
โฆand ๐ you ask the most generic questions!
Butโฆyes!
I like pineapple on pizza! There I said it! Lol
Lol ok thanks for the comment
Pineapple is the only thing that belongs on pizza! ;P
naa meat, When i was a baby my dad would literally mush a fancy steak into paste and feed it to me, None of that artificial fake baby crap, Meat belongs on everything.
My dad also did that with salmon too, He even peeled the skin off of pees and fed them to me. lol
i mean i have never tried it, Might be good might be nasty, Who knows.
And ham lol
Pineapple belongs on pizza when I order it, Bacon, Pepperoni & Pineapple!
You know what goes on pizza... whatever the fuck you want. There argument solved
Yes it absolutely does. Cause the origin of pizza is that it's a poor man's dish that uses what you have in the house. So there's really nothing that can't go on a pizza.
It definitely does. I believe that something is needed to counteract the savory taste of meat.
NO🙅🏿โโ๏ธ🙅🏿โโ๏ธ🙅🏿โโ๏ธ. Even Italians disagree! Stop that heresy😭🛑😱
The image you put for this question is making me crack up lick an egg!!
Yes! I just saw pineapple chunks on a pizza 🍕 today at Shakey's pizza.
Hell no, Anchovies do, its not a pizza without dead fish on it.
For me it achovies or I dont eat it
If you like pineapples on pizza, Iโm convinced youโre a psychopathโฆ
No. It should be a capitol offense, not just for ruining a perfectly good pizza, but also for consuming a pineapple in any way other than freshly harvested or as a juice.
Two foods I like, but they shouldn't be in the same room as each other.
I finally tried it at age 48 and was surprised that it wasn't that bad. But I still don't think I'd ask for it.
Yes it's delicious. Pineapple on pepperoni pizza is one of m favorite things.
I had never heard of pineapple on pizza. And then I spent a couple weeks in Australia where pineapple and capsicum is one of the preferred pizzas. I tried it and liked it.
by the way, capsicum in Australia is a sweet green pepper.
Each to their own, I don't like the flavor but I don't care if others do.
Yup, a thumbs up from me.
For the haters, would you have pineapple on your gammon?
I will only answer this question if you can guarantee me that will truly be "Once and for all" and I'll never have to hear people talk about this again.
I like pineapple and I like Pizza.
But I don't like both together.
i dont really eat pizza much as have to keep in perfect shape for football, But i would like it with pineapples, Maybe one day i would the next i would not, Just depends on the day.
Pineapple and pepperoni go together like peanut butter and jelly
Oh my lord? Regular Casino justice for pineapple? No. Demented sadistic fuck.
Aluminum bat to the head, weee doggies, and not kill, then bury alive. I reserve that for a certain kind of special, I've never yet to mete out that justice. Is it weird I kind of want to?
Fuck no!!!
Red onions and double anchovies only!!!
I hope they forced his eyelids open!! Muhahaha 😈😈😈😈
Yes it does. It goes on with ham. It's called Hawaiian pizza and it's delicious
Only if it is with ham. It's other things like chicken or lettuce that don't belong on a pizza.
In my opinion it doesn't because it ruins the cheese and tomatoes. But it's all subjective
Yes!!
Pineapple.
Green bell peppers.
Purple onion.
Ham.
BBQ sauce.
And Cheese.
The Bomb!!
I can accept it but I like more pizza recipes without it.
I'm gonna have to go with if it's my pizza I guess what ever I want to put on it belongs on it haha, but for real though yes it does.
Only on a Hawaiian.
It's just too sweet a topping for anything else.
Hawaiian Pizza Is Awesome. Pineapples Add The Right Hint Of Sweetness.
Not to me it doesn't. But Joe Pesci and his brother belong in the hole.
Hell no!! Iโll die on that hill if I have to !
No as an Italian that assaulting to me.
Forget pineapple. Should mayonnaise be on pizza? You can really mess pizza up in a lot of ways
No, the ONLY fruit that belongs on a pizza is tomato!!
