How can I be "not too distant" ?

So I caught feelings for a girl friend at work... Little did I know she was already in a relationship, Basically friend zoned and I told her I would keep my distance for a few days so it wouldn't make things awkward and she replied:
of course no worries, don’t need to be too distant lol it doesn’t matter rlly

She means out of the ordinary. Just be the same you've been if you're comfortable with that. If you can't do that or you need space yourself, then tell her you need some space and it's about you, not her

Just act like you are in the present with the person. Care about them. React to what they tell you. Respond. Distant people just come across like they don't give a shit about people.

Simply be yourself around her, just the ordinary conversations and jokes y'all had. From what it sounds, she would miss you if you were to not talk to her at all.
