How important to you is an intellectual connection with your partner?

I guess yes it is important to a certain extent. But to be honest, personally, I don't find it to be the most important aspect of a relationship.

I value emotional understanding and capability to have empathy and respect for each other's journey, to be a much beautiful factor when I'm looking for what I need in my partner.

It is very important to have insight, mutual respect and to have a good control on emotional regulations to be able to shape a relationship in which two individuals share a space that isn't suffocating at any level but comforting and trust building on all.

Supremely important! If she can't mentally stimulate me then it's gonna be hard to do anything with her. I won't feel any sort of attachment. It would be like staying with her for pity's sake tbh. If you can't get with me mentally you can't get with. e emotionally and everything from dates, to hand holding, to sex will feel cheap. Not thanks, not for me.

Very. I enjoy learning from others, and teaching others. I try so hard to have patience with people who can’t have an intellectual conversation at least once in a while!

An intellectual, as opposed to emotional connection, for me it’s a bit of both.

i can’t have a purely intellectual one without that emotional connection, equally while I 100% need to have an emotional connection I do at some level need that intellectual element.

I want it all so connecting intellectually, spiritually, and emotionally are all important to me. If she is my partner she would have to hold me accountable and if we couldn’t connect intellectually then it would be the case where I could get away with too much over her.

Little for me I think. I'm not for conversations like that period, with anyone. Most of the things people would want to talk about (such as politics for example) I have NO interest in at all, and especially no interest in talking with my partner about. I'd rather talk about more "important" things with my partner.

Yes! for me extremely important. I need a mental as well as physical connection. Sex as the only glue in a relationship does not work long term, all of the relationships I had like that didn’t last.

Not sure... I mean it would be really nice to have, but is it the most important thing? No. I can have friends for that. The things I need from a partner more than anything are tenderness and loyalty, true care, and basically tending to all my emotional and physical needs moreso than intellectual. If they aren’t at all capable of understanding my perspective though then it would be difficult to feel right

I have stopped searching for that, girls don't want very smart guys either. They will label you nerd, beta, boring. But I like intelligent people and perhaps in the future will be working in places where the world's most smart people reside. I know I have to dumb it down, to be fair most people can't catch up with me in terms of intellect. I am lonely for a long time trying to find an intellectual connection.
