Should I tell my ex that I'm dating someone new?

We broke up on good terms and have genuinely been friends since. But he sometimes hints and says that he wants to get back with me. I was the one who broke it off. Our relationship was 6yrs long and a year ago I met this new guy (LDR). Would it be better to keep this to myself or not?

It shouldn't be a problem, however it can become a problem depending what has happened between you both.

Went out with a girl that took over a year to go out with me a few years back, we broke up. She then got into a relationship with someone less than two months later. It hurt. It made me feel inadequate, a loser and unwanted. She made all these obstacles for me, but didn't for someone else. After that we just drifted apart.

It is best to disclose this. It can cause problems otherwise. He may not want to speak to you afterwards, but at least you were honest.

As he's your ex, would it really be any of his business? If it's just a casual conversation and he's asking how you've been, etc., and it just comes out that you're seeing someone, okay but, I wouldn't make it a point to tell him. But, if you're good friends and don't mind sharing and feel he''d be happy for you, go ahead.

There's no reason to tell your ex who you're dating or even if you are dating. Keep it to yourself. If you happen to run into each other and he asks, then tell him... if you want.
