Extramarital affair is not criminal offence in India and many countries. In social life, it is considered most dirty. In our community and social culture it is not acceptable. I have never accepted it, and will never support it for any reasons. Extramarital affairs would not just ruin your family life and social reputation but also harm your mental and emotional health. Adultery, obviously, is frowned upon and talked about only in hushed tones in our society. Remember, that once the cat is out of the bag, you will no longer be able to control the story.
There can be numerous reasons as to why a person would end up cheating on their spouse. Adultery has existed since marriage has existed. The fact is, infidelity is not always a symptom of a bad marriage. One cannot necessarily correlate it with marital dysfunction. Sometimes, it is insecure attachment, conflict avoidance, prolonged lack of sex, loneliness, and years of monotony and repetitive arguments that can lead to adultery. There are, of course, those who cheat because they can.
Extramarital affairs are burdened with secrecy, clandestine elements, and the fear of being discovered. Paradoxically, these factors actually fuel the affairs and make it difficult to get out. The added emotional burden can wreck emotional and mental health and first is the guilt factor.
One might be happy with their special lover but the guilt of hurting their spouse is troubling. It makes them emotionally weaker, bringing a drop in their confidence level and self-esteem causing more stress and mental upheaval. Next is fear of being caught. They usually keep thinking about what will happen if they are caught, how it will affect their family and what society will think of them. This brings mental and emotional instability which makes them all the more vulnerable to anxiety and depression.
The constant feeling of guilt combined with fear can leave one extremely exhausted. Moreover, undue expectations from a lover can make the case even worse. All these factors combined create stress and mental pressure, adding to the feeling of emotional exhaustion. One might end up seeing themselves as a culprit and take the blame for everything going wrong. This thought process causes a blow to self-esteem.
There are, however, people who find the idea of adultery exciting and adventurous. Basically, they view it either as a coping mechanism, or as a break from their monotonous routine. It is not a wise idea to put your marriage and mental health in jeopardy for a few moments of excitement.
Adultery was a criminal offence under Indian Penal Code until it was quashed by the Supreme Court of India on 27 September 2018. The law dated from 1860. A five-judge Constitution bench of the Supreme Court of India on 27 September 2018 unanimously ruled to scrap Section 497 and it is no longer as a offence in India. The judgment said, "It (adultery) cannot be a criminal offence," however it can be a ground for civil issues like divorce.10 Reply

Absolutely NOT. Not only is it cheating but it's incest too. Who would do that?

No cheating is not good. Even if you do it guilt will kill you from inside. Your spouse trusted you and you broke his / her trust. Why do you want to cheat aren't you happy in your current relationship and intimacy? Why do need multiple partners to keep you happy?

First, are extramarital affairs acceptable? To your question, it depends on countries where incest is allowed - France, Netherlands etc and extramarital affairs with relatives are just like any other affairs.

Morally? By societal standards and what's considered "commonplace".. no not acceptable at all and very taboo. But in a purely erotic sense, of what I personally find hot, hell yes!🤣. That's a very sexy scenario on both levels.
