Why is his girlfriend awkward around me?

My really good male friend's girlfriend is so awkward around me. I try to talk to her and smile but she is just quiet and looks almost sad and annoyed. Why is this? I know that she is social and bubbly personality.

i asked my guy friend if it's okay for her that we are friends. He said that she is fine with it.

Also, what can I do in this situation? My guy friend is really important to me and I'm important to him so I want to make things work.

It could be she fears your influence over him... that you might talk him into dumping her. Maybe she doesn't feel she measures up to your accomplishments and maybe uncomfortable with him making comparisons.

Ask her to spend a girls' day with you. That way, the two of you can get to know each other better without guys around. She might be able to see you as normal rather than something bigger than life.

Sounds like she’s not completely comfortable with your friendship with him despite what he says. Maybe address the elephant in the room and let her know you’re not interested in him in that way.
