Can someone answer something nonsensical through text when they’re busy? Is it possible for someone to get that confused?

So I’ve asked a certain question to someone which they’ve given me a clear answer to various times. This one time I texted them while they were busy with school and a past meeting asking about kind of the same question and the answer was nonsensical. It was different and I got worried because I thought they were changing the story around or lying. However I texted them “wait but that wasn’t the answer last time” (don’t even question why I kept on asking a similar question) and they responded oh sorry and kind of “fixed” the answer to what originally it was. They said their mind was everywhere and they didn’t answer as intended plus they were stressed about other stuff. I kind of felt lied to even though it could’ve been a mistake because they were busy and what not. My question is, can someone type/respond something nonsensical while they’re distracted and later take it back? Can that even happen?

Why do you keep asking the same question? If you want wise advice, the worst scenario is probably the likely case. If it isn’t, then at least you were prepared for it. However, it’s not good to change your behavior and assume the worst unless you have 100% proof. An example, if your partner is cheating, you shouldn’t blame them for cheating unless you are sure of it. And you shouldn’t make them aware you are suspecting them of cheating because they will put up their guard. And if they aren’t cheating, it just makes you seem insecure and paranoid. Just control what you have control of. Focus on your future. Try to be optimistic and happy even if you know there are problems. Everything else will fall into place.

Yeah probably just distracted texting can always be messed up by accident for now on just call the person instead of texting can't mess up when talking to someone on the phone hear there voice texting can be taken the wrong way especially if the person is distracted.
