A lot of people do.
But not everyone.
Your own attitude also matters.
You need realistic expectations.
But at the same time you meet people of your own age bracket, and it's usually fairly intelligent people that's interesting to talk with (helps if you're sapiosexual) who at this point is often mature enough that you won't give up before you even start the process of looking for someone.
And since getting in isn't automatic but usually requires decent grades you start out with a decent opinion of them when first talking with them, something that helps.

Of course, they do a lot of weird things too that might have the opposite effect...

Something worth noting is that if students makes up a large percentage of the population somewhere (like I'm my former home town of Trondheim where 1/8 of the population is students) your chances of finding someone young and interesting ends up being higher.

Most college relationships don't last because people in college are not ready to settle down so that aren't willing to make the commitment and sacrifices that come with LTRs. But I know people who married their college sweetheart fifty years ago and they are still married.

I mean I'm sure it can happen but I think it is starting to become less and less relevant to occur. It seems like college is the last place for you to find someone who is in the same position as you and can find so much in common because once you go out of college most people will find it very difficult to find someone compatible
