There is no standard number of times one should be intimate with his/her spouse.

You have 2 people with 2 very distinct and different biological setups and needs and the stronger one always adapts to the weaker one; never the other way round. When I say weak, I mean the one that has less needs to be intimate than the one with more sexual appetite.

One should never have to ask but that kind of intimacy should come automatically. If it does not, that simply means that there is no immediate wish to be intimate and that decision has to be accepted. Never "motivate" or coerce a partner to be intimate because that would lead to tensions within the couple.

If you wife only "needs" sex once a month, then go with the flow and don't force her to be more sexually active. There are other ways to show your appreciation than just sex.

You can ask as much as you want but you should also understand why is she rejecting you. I never reject my partner unless I'm not feeling well or I'm on my period.
