Guys, What stops you from wanting to offer your wife physical affection?

Over the past year several guys have sat and confided their woes about "not having time" or "not having drive" or "not having the urge" to show physical affection to their wives.

Since kissing your wife is a low-investment 1/2-second gesture of affection that I'd suggest as a perfect way to start the day (perhaps coupled with a quick GM squeeze), I don't see why a guy would claim these things.

There's probably another reason.

Those of you who are married or perhaps in a very long-term relationship with your SO, please share what would prompt this mindset!

I have the opposite situation in my marriage. My wife is Chinese and the Chinese culture does not encourage frequent displays of affection, so she is the one who is less responsive. It is a cultural thing and not a reflection of a lack of feelings for me.

A few times a year, I'm feeling down and don't want any physical touch and merely want to be alone. It is nothing my wife does or says that makes me not want to kiss or even hug her, but it's the same with anyone. She asks then if a hug or a kiss would help, as she she knows that about me.

Then, once I'm out of that low period, it's back to the previous affection I show her, as it's both of our love languages.
