It depends on upbringing and general opinions on feminine/masculine roles. According to my adopted partner, who's been catered to all of his life by rich parents, me making more money than him feels relieving and not burdening to his manlihood. Then again I do sex work, regardless, his opinion remains the same.

Nice. I had a very similar experience with a younger ex-gf who constantly - more than twice daily - reminded me that she was the dominant/superior one in the relationship, at least in part, due to her substantially higher income. She further added that the income disparity would grow and become more pronounced over time as she gained experience.

Cool. My younger ex-gf made over triple and, not only did she not feel awkward, she loved it. She'd constantly remind me about our income disparity and pointed out that our income gap would widen over time.
