How do you tell a woman you really like her without giving her too much power?

You know what I'm talking about. I mean I get timing is important. Telling her too early you'll scare her away. But even if she feels the same way she can decide, "well now that I got him hooked I can take him for granted".

I always let the woman tell me first if she wants to say she really likes me or loves me. I figure it's already strongly implied through my actions since I'm the one that asked her out, arranged the dates, etc. So I saw it as up to her to tell me if she really loves what I'm doing or not. I also don't mind if no one ever expresses such words.

In general, I preferred the show over tell approach. If I liked a woman, I'd just suggest we hang out more, invite her to more places, spend more time together, make some moves.

Well you can only be indifferent for so long before she folds the tent and dumps you lol. I get what you mean though. That's why I asked the question. It's a balance, give her too much and she doesn't value you. Give her too much and she doesn't think you care. It'd be easier if we could just both be honest.
