Have you ever met an alcoholic. What were they like?

I had one that worked for me. He ran our office and he was a really talented guy. I could smell alcohol on his breath after lunch and the owner mentioned it to me. He wanted me to fire him but I told him that I would have a talk with him about it and hopefully it would not be an issue. I really wanted this guy to work out because he had some good ideas and he seemed a good guy. That morning he comes walking in with a cup of coffee and it was obvious he had been drinking. I asked him to come in my office and I realized that I had to fire him.

I have met a number of alcoholics but one that stands out I briefly worked for.
He was a nice guy very opinionated and stubborn when drunk wasn't easy to persuade. Anyway i did a few jobs with him got payed cash but I stopped working for him as he would often drink my pay infront of me and wanted me to drink with him keep in mind I'm a 14year old at the time and was trying to get my life away from hood shit.

He was a very hard working but would right himself off most nights and everyday he had off work he was drunk at 1 in the afternoon.

He was very broke up until recently when his mum passed and he inherited a good million or so.

He also married very young and was divorced quickly due to his drinking he had a daughter he has no relationship with but he bought her a car.

Unfortunately married to one. It really sucks cause he turns into a completely different person when he drinks.

Nah he doesn't believe in it cause his mom went about 10 times now and still isn't better

Interesting. I’ve known individuals who have gone once and become sober and also individuals who have gone six or more times.

Think it’s always worth trying. But hard if the individual doesn’t want to

Very pleasant and charming when she wasn't drinking. Mean as a snake when she was drinking.

you would struggle at times to spot someone who is an alcoholic.

However with any addiction they constantly need their hit, gambling, drugs, alcohol

They then change before, during and straight after it.

Nice guy generally but his life was a mess. He ended up in a collision with some guy riding a motorcycle at high speed and then being convicted of DWI. Cost him about $20,000 and a lot of time.

They werent like what the TV shows. This guy was badly sad about a loss he had but he wasn't like an idiot while not drunk. He was a very funny guy and he usually was even funnier while drunk but sometimes rude

hell on earth nice one breath and a crazy person the next. If you're dating one or thinking that you are going to change them, you are making the worst mistake of your life. I know having lived with one for 30 years.

For some reason every alcoholic in recovery or not has been very narcissistic, untrustworthy, delusional.
I know there’s good people out there that struggle I just haven’t meet them yet.
