Shit do I, grew up with a no good ones dude my mom hooked up with, and most everyone I was around was a damn alcoholic, more that drank meaner they got, and violent, I quit drinking about 15 years ago want a drink or alcoholic just when I got home had a glass or out with people I felt comfortable with, wasn't a mean person when I was under the influence was a lot of fun, but one day I went to pour me a glass and I felt nauseated and knew that was it, went the out all the liquor in the house good expensive stuff you but didn't care and that was end of it, when I look at movies and see people drinking I want to puke, but I haven't had any alcoholic drink since same with when I was smoking weed just stopped like that and now it's legal go figure, but I never did acting I couldn't just quit like that the body knows when enough is enough and you should listen to and know your body inside and out always, I don't knock anyone who drinks it's what they do after, 5 years ago I got hit by drunk driver killed me I don't remember acting about it all i know is what I read in police report, I was invited to attend the trial of the woman who hit me, judge asked if I wanted to say anything, now I rarely got headaches in my life never did really but after that accident I have then 24 hours a day I can block it most if the time but the ringing in my ears are so loud I was sure everyone can hear it, but I just said in court that she just need treatment not jail cell and I hope her heard hurts worst than mine these headaches are as real pain, everyone in court room started laughing but I wasn't trying to be funny was serious nothing worked to ease the pain, was taking to a friend of mine one day he's a monk yes real tibetan monk, and he showed me exercises how to block the it when it becomes too much to take so that helped a lot, but we have to face it alcohol will always be sorry if it existence just people need to be more responsible when drinking and just have a good time not turn into jeckyl and Hyde, you know!

I know a few people who drink but never saw them drunk in front of me. They always control and that's really good.

And personally I don't think I would ever drink or do drugs. Only alcohol I have had is from the medicines and mouth wash that contain it. Maybe beer with 1%

My grandmother and my mother are both alcoholics. My great grandfather, died of liver cancer

I myself had a binge drinking issue in 2022, which lasted for around 6 months. It took me to do some stupid stuff, sprain my ankle etc. To realise I needed to stop.

Binge drinking is sadly very common in the UK. Even though I'm better with alcohol now, it's very hard sometimes.

My father used to have a problem with alcohol but I would say that he was an alcoholic. Fortunately he doesn't drink anymore.

My mother has an issue with it but she will never admit it. However, she had a friend who has an alcoholic. The worst part that she used to buy beer when she was with that friend.

not anymore but i used to know a 21yo dude who would get wasted every single day and his main personality trait was alcohol. like he would spend all his money on that and had a crazy alcohol tolerance that he needed to drink inhuman amounts to feel anything

yes my best friend, she'll guzzle like a whole bottle of alcohol, sometimes one after another get super drunk, then she'll start stripping, and will even start stripping off my clothes as well, but I don't mind, I like being naked anyway

Yes, growing up in middle school my dad was an alcoholic, this happened after he lost his steel mill job, now poor dad is in a nursing home was pretty sick the other day. :(

It runs in her family so I have been very careful about drinking for a long time.

Really but come on you and your mom must be really persuasive haha. He would listen to both of you.
Drinking especially crazy like is a problem and can ruin relationships and families even. It's something people should avoid as best they can. Socially acceptable perhaps but I remember a guy who ran a side berm with his car while I was doing one of my late night walks. Lucky for me no one was hurt and police didn't file a case.

Hey, no he is just using his mental illness to justify it. He should be avoiding intoxicants if he indeed has it. That's certainly not an excuse to be careless. I know it's something you have to deal with but let me share my father's experience. He had smoking addiction. Would smoke all day everyday 1-2 packs everyday but one day he was feeling tired and exhausted from work and that's when he stopped smoking on his own through sheer willpower and it was a Godly Miracle. He has not touched a cigarette in 23 years:).

No, hey don't say something like that about your parents please even jokingly. Maybe he gets drunk to forget something or perhaps he has pain. Your are his loving daughter, right? So try asking him what he feels he achieves by drinking so much 😊. I am pretty sure a lot of people just want to feel loved and cared. You will get a good answer from him.
It's a man's Will alone and God's Help that makes him do Wonderful things for his family, wife, children, parents and I think he made you so why not give him credit for that lol. And I am sure your mom wouldn't have married him if he had no Will Power haha.
