Why are so many women my age obsessed with pursuing careers and being independent? Are there any women that just want to marry and have kids nowadays?

I want to marry in the future. Have kids, raise a family together.

But most women in college don’t seem to want this.

They just seem so obsessed with their careers and being independent.

Most of them don’t seem to want marriage and kids, even if they aren’t necessarily promiscuous.

Anyways I just don’t see a future with career minded women. That is my job as a man to fulfill. And it’s utter b*llshit when people say a man can’t provide for his whole family financially.

Very few people actually seem to want traditional relationships nowadays.

I just think it’s utter bullsh*t how women want to assume mens roles and still call it a relationship.

Which might be why every guy I’ve spoken with seems to just want sex from women.

And while I largely share that sentiment of most women being worthy of nothing besides sex (which is why I’ve been single for so long), I’m not out to take advantage of people either so I remain a committed virgin.

I’ll have sex later but for right now I’m just focused on trying to find a woman I could spend the rest of my life with.

Well, yes I wanted to... but I pursued career because having children is expensive and I wanted to give them a good home. And unfortunately until I tried online dating I didn't really meet any guys who'd be willing to support a family. They all wanted a working woman. And if I were to work, I might as well be well paid for it. I don't think women necessarily prefer career over family, it's just that they don't have confidence in the men around them and feel they might end up having to bear the responsibility themselves. That was me, I felt if I was going to have children I must be capable of taking care of them myself in case I didn't have support from their father. Thankfully, I was able to meet a man whose views align with mine and it seems I was just surrounded by leftists. But even aside from that, not many men can support a family nowadays, you need two incomes to buy a house. Not everyone has that from the start. And it's better to do it with a career than working a low wage job in which you end up more tired anyways even if there's less responsibility. It's simply not a choice for many people.

Working moms don't manage both their kids and work. They depend on daycare and school to watch their kids for them all day long then pick them up and see them for 1-2 hours a night before bed.(or work from home moms ignoring their kids that's right next to them all day and focusing on work)
And money, trips and whatever else is just gonna spoil kids. Its better for a mom to stay home and actually make real bonding memories with their kids. Which is especially easy with homeschooling. Can bond, make memories, learn all at the same time.

Families do manage very well with part time jobs.

13 yr old kid goes to school on a Wednesday, stay at home mum now sits around all day, as all jobs done, kid comes home grabs food and either heads out to see friends or in room until sleep time, EXACTLY how much does that stay at home mum see their TEEN?

Also the usual at a military base, is stay at home mums spend 2 hours minimum per day at coffee shop etc, then a couple hours doing tv. It’s pretty similar in civvie street,
Also a woman who is not sitting around the house all day is a far better role model than one that is doing housework.
Imagine a daughter at 6 knowing she’s got fuck all future and will be at home all day, why bother with school, why bother with education, why bother with dreams of a career as a Doctor, Engineer, Scientist, her life is going no where.

That must be a great parent child bonding experience, destroying any dreams she has…

A teen that is homeschooled would see there mama all morning at the very least.
And I'm a military wife I don't have time to go out or watch TV. There isn't that much free time in the day with kids. Maybe mom's of 1-2 kids can bullshit like that but not 3, 4,5 kids would be impossible to not be busy.
Why does everyone gotta aim for being a doctor, engineer? There are lots of different jobs to choose from besides those. Kids should go after whatever dreams they have but they need to be realistic and not shit that everyone else is doing.

However a mother / parent killing those dreams by saying ‘this is your life and all you will be doing as a stay at home mother’ is for a lot of people a living hell.

Yes some may love the idea, however why bother with exams then, what’s the point of more than a good level of English and maths to run a house, save education budgets for those that actually want to do something with their life.

Erm my wife was a military wife, I am 100% aware of what goes on with a military camp, they are pretty much the same the world over. There is a lot of sitting around, finding jobs to do, while the kids are all at school.

Yes if someone has a lot of kids it’s harder, however that is not really common, it’s 1-2 for the norm.

Not saying being a parent is not hard work, however you can actually have a career, have kids, then go back to a career.

A shit load of people do not have the luxury of not working, their partner does not make enough cash to cover energy and fuel bills, food, clothing, etc, it then becomes a struggle getting necessities never mind any luxury.

It used to be "Conservative", to support men being the primary providers in a family. We used to have a society. . . well, it wasn't great, but we used to have families where men worked and women provided care.

My father was a truck driver, my mother stayed home and raised us. But that was because we as a society support the ideal that a man could go out, get a skill and land a job that gave him enough money to support a family.

That is no longer possible for a typical American man. We bought the argument that both men and women have to work to support a family. Because everyone has to be self-sufficient. I am not saying that classic liberals did not contribute to this mess because of women's rights. But most people in this nation identify themselves as "Conservative". In the days of yesteryear, that meant a strong nuclear family. In today's world it was rebranded for political reasons into being self-reliant.

You can't be self-reliant with kids. So why wouldn't women abandon their natural instincts to become a mother and focus on her career and on being self-reliant?

Having your finances and independence is part of being an adult. I've seen women stuck in unhappy relationships with men that treat them like shit. The men are happy and prefer them not to work because it makes it harder for their wife to leave them as they have no money, job, or career of their own.

My husband and I waited several years to have children while our careers got established, but we both knew that was the route we wanted to take (pay off student loans, buy a house, etc).
I am guessing many women in your age group haven’t thought that far ahead. If you find somebody who cares about you, that is a good start. I wouldn’t preface every serious relationship with the question of children. Give it time.
