Am I overreacting or was my boyfriend’s comment inappropriate?

My boyfriend and I are on vacation in Hawaii. While we were watching a luau with the girls hula dancing, he was saying “get it get it” and “get low, get low”. I told him his comments were inappropriate and he replied “I can’t make comments about other girls”? Am I overreacting?

For the most part I would say yes, because he seems to be sexualizing what’s supposed to be a traditional, religious dance.
