Am I overreacting or is my boyfriend being petty?

My brother invited my boyfriend and I to a game night a couple weeks back. My boyfriend agreed to go last week. Yesterday he told me he'd rather hang out with his friends and wants to flake. It annoys me when he agrees to do something and then wants to flake after a friend asks to do something after the fact. If i force him to go he'll be annoying the whole time anyway but I'm fuming because he's done this before

Hewants to hang with a friend who presumably he dosent see very often, or at least not as much as they used to. He dosent really want to go to a games night but was going to for you. Let him go out with his friend and go spend night with your family, don't see the issue

The friends he wants to hang out with tonight he saw last week* if it was a friend he hadn't seen in awhile there'd be no issue. I don't understand why he feels the need to flake on me for friends he sees several times a month

You should explain to him how him breaking his promises makes you feel. Honestly it begs the question, if you can't trust him to keep here his word on this how can you trust him?

It's pretty childish to flake out. My husband loves hanging out with my family, and I love hanging out with his. It makes life really easy.
