Am I overreacting to what my boyfriend said?

So my boyfriend and a friend of ours are going out for drinks, which I'm fine with. But they are going to a place that I previously suggested to my boyfriend that we go to but he said he wouldn't like it because he used to spend a lot of time there with his ex and has bad memories. I honestly feel a bit hurt that he refused to go with me but is fine going with our friend. When I asked him about it he said he exaggerated how bad it was and he is fine with going there. Am I overreacting?

I think you may be overreacting. Your boyfriend recently went to a place he thought wouldn't give him a good experience, but was mistakened evidenced by what he said to you after coming back to this place. Now, I don't really know why he went with this friend to this place instead of with you, but maybe it was more comfortable for him to go with the friend there instead of you because it would've reminded him too much of his ex.
