How come some people stay together forever and others can't get anyone to stick around?

Honestly I think it helps to really know each other before going into a romantic relationship, being friends first I mean.

I'm not going to pretend I'm a huge expert or anything. I've been with my partner three years romantically and we were friends for two years before we started dating.

Having a good foundation just helps I think. There are no big suprises in the other person's personality or past, because you've discussed these things on a friendship level. Falling for a friend isn't something that just happens though, so it might not be the best advice.

Of course there are going to be small suprises along the way, being friends and being a couple is of course different, but communication just becomes easier when you've been doing it for so long while being friends.

I think some people don’t bond emotionally to people and treat them purely as social tokens into a lifestyle compatible with their desires and wishes, and when there is no bond or vulnerability, people stray and break up.

A lot of people fall out once the crush phase ends, because they see eachother for who they really are. Others split up because of different life goals. And OTHER others split up because they lacked the strength and will to work with eachother.

Love each other, respect each other, be loyal to each other, work with each other to keep the relationship happy, communicate clearly and honestly. During arguments, they don't lash out at each other, and they always remember that they're lovers, not enemies. It can be hard to find someone who's that ideal, and it can be hard to be that ideal sometimes. But those are all definitely good qualities to have for a lasting relationship.
