Am I wrong for getting extremely frustrated, because my partner doesn't help me around the house?

I'm currently living with my partner and my toddler daughter. We both have pretty hectic schedules his mostly during the night and mine during the day. I'm the first to get out of bed, therefore I'm expecting him to make the bed and just straighten things a bit. He would leave his dishes wherever he use them, if he ate a snack or something he'll just drop the wrapper right there. I may forget to move something and I'll come and find it exactly the same way. Having a toddler is already a lot of mess to deal with and I don't see why I should have to be going through this with a grown man. I'm not expecting him to have things perfect but at least just help me out a bit. I did spoke to him about it and when he does actually do something it's like. I prefer you didn't because some how it looks worse. I don't think this a breaking point for our relationship but I'm getting tired of this.
