Bestfriends/platonic friends?

Are there still guys that want to simply be friends with girls? Like bestfriends or one of those platonic relationships I can only read in books or watch in movies/tv series?

That is much more common when we're young. As we get older, our lives become more challenging and complicated, and it's harder to find the time to nurture a platonic friendship. If he's in a relationship with someone else, that person may resent any time given to you and taken away from her. You may find an older impotent man or gay man who wants to connect with someone but doesn't want to complicate his life by having a full relationship. Once you're out of school, people rarely seek out platonic relationships. If they're going to put forth the effort, they'll want all their needs and desires met.

Yes, the meaning tends to change. When we're young, we just want friends to hang out with, as we have few responsibilities. When we're older, if we're going to expend precious time, we're more likely to want a partner to work together on all aspects of life, helping with those responsibilities. There are senior citizens who just want platonic friendships, as their responsibilities have diminished, so they no longer need a partner.

You may see it as sad, though it's common to mourn the loss of something we recently lost. As time goes on, we stop mourning that loss, as we replace it with other, more satisfying options. After all, do you continue to mourn the loss of your diaper or baby bottle you thought you couldn't live without?

I have two close females friends and several other female friends. Not even a little bit interested in them romantically or sexually.

Well my kids and parents come before friendships, but after that she is up there. We will talk about anything though.
