Boyfriend insulted a meal my mom made for him?

My boyfriend came to visit my family home. My mom made us burgers. I really liked them. Later, I asked my boyfriend if he liked them. He told me they were nice but would make me ones that were a lot nicer. I felt quite insulted , and bad for my mom who had made the effort. He also told me that, at the time he went to our bathroom after eating his burger, and had to throw up because it didn’t agree with him. I had no problems with mine. I’m really disappointed that he said this, am I overreacting or was it disrespectful?

Well I'm looking at a couple different ways and only you know this so you will have to answer this honestly
I think anytime we bring our girlfriend or boyfriend over to our parents house we want to see them get along we want them to be great together and like each other and I think your mom went out of her way to cook something nice and you got to feel like he put her down and you didn't want that to happen you want to go to Beast happiness harmonious and as soon as he said that you even felt is it was an attack on your mom you could have said anything but that and who knows maybe he can make a good hamburger but I mean I mean he could have said anything whether it was true or not I mean he could have said it was the best hamburger in the world but he had to turn around and make it all about him what he doesn't understand is that it was all about your mom this was a moment for them to get along get to know each other and then that way you can do the word everything fits together no he just put a damper on not to mention that you wanted him to have with your mom

But at the same time you can't take this as a negative you have to look at it as a positive because it really is in the long run because that changed something with inside you and how you feel about the guy and I totally understand that I think there's even more to this and I think this was kind of like the last straw so look at it as a positive it was a learning moment a lot of times in life we already all know what's going to happen but we do not listen to ourselves I think you do listen to yourself and I think you do things for reasons and it teaches you and you're aware of that and I think you're pretty smart girl so take it as a learning experience and grow from it

he didn't even insult them he said they were nice. he just used it as an opportunity to offer to cook for you
