Most likely because the term "romance" translates in "sex only" in the parlance of men.

There is a distinctive difference in meaning when the term "romance" is meant.

For women, romance includes perhaps sex but that is not the major factor in a partner. Romance involves a whole lot of other things such as closeness, friendship, trust and faith, hugs and kisses, holding hands and a number of other non sexual behaviors.

For men on the other hand, romance signifies sex from morning till the next morning and then over again. Often, romance is more of a sexual behavior for guys rather than all the more important aspects of a relationship as women see it.
