Why do people become so emotionally intimate with you only to use you?

They will ask you a lot of questions, even the personal ones, they'll claim to be your best friend and offer you unconditional love/support.

But when you catch them in lies and disappearing when they don't need you and you tell them you lost the trust, they start distancing themselves?

Why do they bother getting too close and intimate if all they want is a timepass?

How can someone be so cruel?

Most of these people aren't what they seem. There's ones who can't help themselves and there's people who genuinely want to use you, the best way to use someone is for them to trust you unconditionally and the first step to that is to develop a sense of familiarity.

Asking personal questions that are closely related to deep emotions you feel give that person access to those emotions if they're smart and perceptive enough.

For example, if I asked you about your childhood and you told me about how your dad treated you and I was able to figure out that your dad was depressive bi-polar.

All you have to do is mirror his tendencies to start building up that familiarity.

That person's current relationship and feelings towards the father would also give you important information.

This is how some people think naturally and some people use it for good and others use it for bad.

Just because they are asking you personal questions, this does NOT mean that they care about you in an emotionally personal manner.

They could just be spamming you verbally to get info THEY need to steal FROM you, scam you, or just to boost their OWN ego at the expense of yours.

Some people just use people, without a thought or care how it makes someone feel to be used... They'll use you when they're in need and won't be around when you are... But there is still good people out there that AREN'T like that... Once you know someone's a user, let that person go... People always think someone will change, but they seldom do.. Anyways, but especially if they keep getting away with it. Can't stop someone from being a user, but you can stop them from using you anymore

I ask this very same thing for 7+ months now... because i have been catfished by a girl at the end of last year. She then just suddenly disappeared at the start of this year out of nowhere. That put me in a really bad emotional state, and i still feel that way.
There was no indication of her not liking me anymore or anything like that.. I think i still like her, because i started liking her personality a lot, and not how she looked and her pictures.

I thought i was over her by now and i could move on, but it seems like i can't.
Firstly i want to know what happened with her, why did she just disappear like that, then i would like to know who she really is.
