Guys mostly, if you are in a relationship what would make you feel so in love and ready to work it out one week and after an argument, you would break up with her and want noting to do with her anymore and tell her you do not feel the same anymore. This is happening to me and he has completely shut me out saying he’s done and does not love me like he thought he did.

Depending on the argument, it might have shown him a different side of you he never knew was there and he didn't like it? Or, maybe it was the heat of the moment also and he'll come around once he's calmed down?

I've said it once, I will repeat it, and I will say it until I'm blue in the face; the single most important thing a woman can be in a man's life is a source of peace. You have to make his life more enjoyable. That doesn't mean you have to be his maid, but it does mean that you should find ways to be his source of comfort and know how to draw boundaries so you aren't giving too much of yourself.

If you are a genuine source of peace to a man (and he's not an absolute knucklehead), he is going to be helpless against your charms.

I get that I really do, but from my experience and the guys I have dated including this one, I have a hard time being their “peace” when I feel I am being disrespected and taken advantage of. The argument started because he thinks it’s ok for him to tell me what time to get home but he was out with his friends and other females partying till the next day.

@irmaavila301 That's where my comment about setting healthy strong boundaries comes from. You deserve to be respected and valued by the significant men in your life. You will NEVER be peaceful for someone who constantly criticizes you, nor should you be; that's not a person who appreciates what you're giving them. The person you want to bring peace to is going to be someone who makes that incredibly easy. Anything else is a bad fit.

Well, a big part of finding that right fit is doing the self reflection and work to learn how to establish healthy personal boundaries for yourself in relationships. I'm sure you're running into guys who aren't very great, but you also need to get better about boundaries because having healthy boundaries will push unhealthy people away.

Lack of respect. If I felt I was the only one giving to work it out and she was not. Or was not equally then it doesn't matter how I feel about her or want the relationship to be successful. One person can't keep a relationship afloat. If I don't get that level of help and support I have NO PROBLEM turning the relationship off like light switch. That doesn't mean it won't hurt me to do it. But if it needs to be done it needs to be done.

You are right. He expressed multiple times that I was being disrespectful to him and kept “playing with him” but all I did was call him out on his bullshit and I felt disrespected myself. He disrespected me by going out partying with friends and other women till noon the next day, he called me names, he broke my phone, he tried to control me. But then it’s disrespectful when I stand up for myself or call him out on his behavior? What? So many men expect women to “respect” them when they are not earning that respect and continue to disrespect us. Make it make sense
