New boyfriend Scamming me?

My new boyfriend says he wants to give me a $500 thank you gift card/1 month anniversary gift. However, bc it’s such a large amount, he wants to do it through an employee pay card and then sign off that it’s as a “gift” so we don’t get in trouble legally. I don't know what this means or if it’s safe to do?
I’m worried I will get taxed for it… I don’t understand but I thought employee gift cards are taxable.

That’s called stealing. He’s writing off a gift to you as if it’s a gift to one of the employees. If you accept it you’re going to become involved if he gets sued for it.

He’s scamming the company. And it’s possible he could be stealing even more money in peoples names.

sw1916, you nailed it. If he’s the business owner then it’s tax evasion — he will deduct your gift as a business expense.. If he’s not the owner then he’s embezzling. Either way it’s not good. If he will cheat financially, he is likely to also cheat sexually.
