I can’t let go of the past, how can I let go and be happy?

my boyfriend and i have been together for 8 years. i really want to be with him, i want him to be my husband, i want to have kids with him. he likes girls bikini pictures and booty pictures all the time on instagram. i know it’s not a big deal but i have no confidence in myself that it bothers the crap out of me. i’ve cried and talked to him about it and he says he’s going to stop. i just can’t get over it. he has told me when he’s mad that the girls on there are hotter than i am and that our sex life is bad so of course it makes my confidence worse. im tired of thinking and feeling this way. any advice on how to get better?

You’d be better off letting him go, but I doubt you want to do that, so you’re stuck until you’re ready to put yourself first and walk out. The thing is, you’ve already told him, and told him, and told him, when you should’ve only had to say it once and it should’ve stopped. The fact that he doesn’t listen is a choice. He’s choosing his desire for other women, and hurt you repeatedly. That’s not love, and I can say that with certainty because I know it first hand. I’d you don’t respect yourself and set boundaries, then he won’t either.
