Why do men supposedly say they want to confident successful woman and yet don't have the balls to talk to them?

It’s not just confident successful women, approaching a woman in general can be scary/intimidating for a lot of men. Fear of rejection is usually the reason.

I don't think that so many men actually care that much if a woman is confident and successful. I think as long as thy are not supremely insecure or under a mountain of bad debt for most regular guys confidence and success aren't the most important traits.

Men, like women, are not monolithic. Where is the evidence that the men who say this are the same men who do not approach? It is possible, even likely, that the men who do not approach do not hold that view.
