He said so. To cut a long story short he’s divorced and doesn’t want to marry again right now and he seems to think I’ll want that in the future.

It’s too much to explain here really, but he’s still struggling with his divorce (he thought he was doing okay but had a setback) and he thinks he can’t offer me what I want in the future (marriage & kids).

He said never say never but he knows he has to work through some stuff first and doesn’t want to hold me back (even though he doesn’t really like me seeing other guys, he’s not selfish enough to try and stop me).

I tried to say we could carry on. He decided not to for my sake apparently as he felt I was in deeper than him. I can’t win.
