The best case scenario is that he is immature and does not know better. Many 16 year old boys do not know better. If he is 21 then he SHOULD know better !! He is either short-sided/stupid or can't consider what his words do to other people. Sometimes people like this are very self-absorbed. I do not see a positive here.

I think it’s good that he talks to you about his girlfriend. Not for the intent of hurting your feelings, but setting boundaries and respecting his relationship. You don’t need a taken man to “like you even a bit”, and maybe him mentioning his girlfriend is the best reminder of this.
