What gives? I'm so confused. About a month ago my best guy friend called me up saying that he heard that I like him and that he "doesn't like me like that...at the moment." But every time I talk to other guys around him or start to mildly flirt with another guy he either walks away and barely talks to me for the rest of the day or totally cock-blocks the flirting by butting in. I'm trying to get over him, but it's so difficult with all the mixed signals... HELP PLEASE ! :(

Did he really say he didn't like you at the moment? The moment? Maybe he didn't like you at "the moment" because he had some other chickie lined up and she didn't pan out as planned. If this is it then maybe he needs to get punched in the face and isn't worth it.

Maybe he suddenly realized, because guys usually have great epiphanies when they're horny or jealous, that he really does want you. Are YOU sending the mixed signals? Leading him on? Because women like to twist men around their fingers, even if "they don't mean to".

Or maybe it's because you're his best friend, it doesn't necessarily mean he wants to date you, and he gets mad because he--in all his manly glory lol--feels the need to protect you from harm. And with guys usually comes harm.

You should confront him about it. It's really easy, just call his ass out on it next time he wants to be a cock-block. (I hate that sh*t, I finally build the courage to flirt with a guy or whatever and ask him out and while we're chatting one of our friends ruins it) So I know how you feel. Talk to him about it because he's your best friend, well if he REALLY is it should be easy. It'd be awkward, but only if you let it, and you'll both get over it.

Nakedpie has a very good point, he likely had another girl in mind but it didn't work and now he wants you as a rebound.

I know how hard it can be to get over someone that you like, but eventually you'll be able to move on, try staying away from him for a while and focus on other things, take your mind off him.
