Is it fair to give away a husky if you haven’t done everything you can to help it?

Ok so my girlfriend is at the point where she’s saying it’s me or the dog the husky is about 2 he hasn’t been adequately trained yet and he’s destructive and howls a lot when we aren’t home because he has separation anxiety. I can’t just give up on him first because this is a breed placed in shelters a lot but also this is my first dog and with training this would be fixed but she thinks it’s expensive and not worth it.

It is ONLY her responsibility if she agreed to getting the dog equally. It is not her responsibility if she only agreed to allowing him to get a dog, which to me is what this sounds like.

He has had two years. If he actually was going to get the dog trained, it would have been trained by now. And maybe this is not the case for you, but typically when somebody agrees to let their partner get an animal, it goes without saying that that person will actually take care of that animal.

@LazerBean I think his girlfriend is just being a jerk and doesn’t want the dog around so she’s making every case scenario seem like an issue. “Training is too expensive” but wait “because you haven’t been training the dog I think you should get rid of it “ make it make sense. Sorry I think it’s odd when people allow their partners to get certain pets but they don’t have love for that pet themselves.

I think it's odd when someone claims they love their pet, but doesn't do diddly shit with them for 2 years but magically decides that they are going to start properly taking care of them only after someone gives them an ultimatum.
