It's a red flag but if that's were it stops then it's not a problem. Longs if he ain't trying to make you do anything uncomfortable. It's all about you though really.
Some people are into weird things, and stuff that involves blood. But longs if it's consented then it's not a worry.
And if one is into weird things but knows the other isn't he should respect that.

Also also, if you are depressed and that if they loved you though they would wish for you not to be. And not try to fetishize it, but again it might be more scars turn him on than to the reason you did it.
Which scars turning people on is pretty common tbf.

I think you are saying maybe he likes to abuse and hurt... I'm not sure, you'd have to figure out what he likes about scars. maybe he's just trying to make you comfortable with yourself and that it doesn't matter that much. the answers are in your childhoods and teachings. So to my undrrstanding, ure both sadistic... u might wonder/ask why..
Once, because u self harming in envy/rage that no one wants you, and everyone has someone besides them, or from being bipolar...
Second, because u found someone that might "further" add to ur situation, snd is getting turned on, or fantasizing how it will look for HIM to HARM you, instead doing it for urself, so u better change ur boyfriend, otherwise might end up with "unpleasant surprise/s... 🤷‍♂️

Yes. I have self harm scars as well and these scars represent the lowest point in my life. Luckily most of them are faded but I hate looking at the ones I have left. If someone told me that my scars “turn them on” I’d be truly disgusted and scared of them tbh 🥴
