Is it normal for some people to feel like their problems are yours?

I feel like when some people are having certain issues, they automatically put you in the same category. If suppose they have an issue arriving late at appointments then, automatically you have the same issue too. This concerns a lot of things of things, supposed they are stressed then you're supposedly stressed as well.

I feel like this could be avoided by just owning up to their feelings but I honestly don't know if it's in my head or that's really something happening. Or even if I should speak about it because, I don't know if what I say is real.

I think I know myself pretty decently and it's kind of getting frustrating when someone is trying to give you an emotion or a problem that you clearly don't have. Supposed they are stressed, they would say say:"you seem stressed" and I'd answer:"No, I don't feel stressed, I was thinking about X or Z", they insist about me being stressed, which then actually stresses me out. It's weird.

How would you react? Do you think this is something that could happen? What advice do you have?

I don't know how to handle these situations correctly to be honest.

Thanks a lot 😊
