You can only control yourself, unless others choose to be controlled. By saying you're stubborn, you're saying you expect things to go your way. Isn't he doing the same? By both of you legitimizing holding onto your patterns, you'll end up butting heads constantly. Healthy partners are considerate of how their choices impact others rather than focusing on their own sense of entitlement. It appears neither of you are choosing to be healthy partners.
