A girl, who is my friend, for whom I have one-sided feelings, has not been in contact with her for a long time, should I approach her again on my own?

I have one sided love for someone, she considers me as her good friend. I don't have any extra expectations from her, just want her not to forget me.. keep the contact intact forever... Because she is thousands of kilometre away from me for her studies. But the problem is that currently we are kind of off talking without any kind of conflict. No one messages anyone, only see each other active online, but no one can come forward. Should I assume that she no longer wants to have any relationship with me? Or should I go ahead and talk to her again? (When these thoughts come, I think she will avoid me again, it happened before) What should I do? Another incident, a few months ago she suddenly texted me, I replied rudely as I was angry with her for ignoring me before, I am sorry for that now, can I expect any response from her after all this?
