You can't because emotional dependency is part of love, so is sexual attraction, emotional connection, possessiveness, a certain amount of jealousy, sacrificing, caring, respecting, cherishing etc.

Nobody ever said that love is some innocent thing, it's messy and imperfect just like human beings are.

This is a curious question, because the two are different but related. Ill add to what others have already said, emotional dependence is more self centered. Its holding on beyond reason. Its feeling trapped. Suffocated. Love is not. True love is liberation. Sacrifice. True love, is letting go.

Love is an emotion you feel for someone that you care for.. ( girlfriend/wife, family, etc). They're different types of love. Emotional dependency is something more being attached to someone no matter what
