Interracial Relationships... Your thoughts?

Shrug, I'm fine with it. I'm black and my husband is Hispanic/Mexican. It would be weird of me to say it's wrong when I'm in interracial relationship myself. My only issue is when people tend to fetishize such relationship, and even get in them cause they want the mixes baby aesthetic? Which i find very weird. Don't treat it as some type of trend, if you fall in live with someone outside your race, it should be natural.

If you date/marry someone from a very different culture then there's a risk you would have too different views on many things. Different views => more arguements => more likely to break up/divorce.

You have to ask yourself if you are able to overcome it and if your views are not too polarised. I know examples where such relationships worked. Every case is different

I don’t have any. People marry who they love. Most people are mixed race the way it is.

Why does it matter one way or the other! Yes, some people have preferences on skin color the same as any other preference. It’s subjective. Others don’t care at all.

It is the heart that matters.

I am not opposed to interracial dating. I am Caucasian, my girlfriend is Chinese, and I will probably be proposing to her in the next 2-3 months.

@OlderAndWiser There's a VERY significant difference between "hating your own race" (which I really don't believe people do) and looking past skin colour, to what's inside, no matter the outside packing.

@OlderAndWiser. @AmandaYVR. I have to agree with Amanda. I DONT hate my own race, but I just find that there aren't nearly as many 'dateable options' as when I expand the 'pond'! Hence the reason that ALMOST ALL of my GFs were NOT my race! LOL!

I don't see anything wrong with them! Aren't nearly all of them interracial, anymore? Even as recent as the `60's it was considered interracial for an Italian to marry anyone of any other race! If you were Polish, you HAD to marry a Pole, if you were German, you HAD to marry a German, etc.. From at least my grandparents' time onwards, it didn't seem to matter much, anymore. Dad's parents were Scots-Irish and German, mom's were Irish and Slovak. I nearly married a Hindu!
